The Village of Ashton sends out quarterly bills to residents via USPS mail. Bills are mailed on a yellow postcard. Residents may also opt-in to E-Bills using the downloadable form below and turning the form into the Village Clerk(click the green E-Bill Opt-In button to download the form). Please note-you must submit the form in person or by Village Drop-box to complete the opt-in process.

The Village has to a new Accounting Software (LOCiS) which will allow for E-Billing and Auto Pay options for residents. This service will be ready to use for the April 2024 billing. Submit the form below in person or via dropbox at the Village Office at 810 Main St. to sign up. Please note that submissions will not be taken via e-email and you are not required to opt-in to this service, it is simply another way to pay this bill. Please contact the Village Office with questions.

(A) Service address is the street address where the water meter is located.

(B) The billing period or quarter.

(C) Shows how much water the meter read as used in a given billing period.

(D) This is the breakdown of the bill. The Water and Sewer charges are based on usage recorded in a water meter. The Refuse and Capital Improvement fees are flat unless there is an unpaid balance, late penalties applied, or a credit on the account.

(E) Total Due Amount is listed along with the late penalties and due date.

(F) Notes from the Village. Please see Section II of the Ordinance for Overdue Bill Policy for more information about $10 material fee for bills paid after the due date.

(G) Including the remit stub is helpful when processing your payment.

(H) Mailing address is where the bill will be sent to. Please make sure to update your information – especially if you receive mail in a PO Box that is not on file with the Village.

Ways To Pay Your Utility Bill

There are several ways to pay your utility bill:

  1. In person at the Village Office during regular business hours (Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm). Please note the clerk is on lunch from 12:30-1pm daily.
  2. At the Village drop box located on the side of the building facing the parking lot.
  3. At Central Bank in Ashton during normal business hours. Please note these payments will be posted at the end of each business day at the bank.
  4. Online at IL ePay. (Please note: There is a small surcharge by the vendor for the transaction.) You may make a one-time payment, there is no need to set up an account.
  5. Via USPS mail. (Please note: We include this as an option, but delivery times may vary based on the time of year and the mail volume. Plan for 10-14 days to delivery when using this option.)
